Astronomy

This constellation lies between Cancer and Virgo, at about 10 hours 30 minutes right ascension and 15° north declination. Durong November a meteor shower known as the Leonid can be observed within this stella configeration.

Fixed Stars

Regulus (Alpha Leonis), the brightest star, is of the first magnitude. Its name Regulus, derived from a Latin word for king, inturn it too reflects an ancient belief in the astrological importance of this star.
