She was the daughter of Agnor and princess of Phonecia, along with being beutiful Jupiter became enamoured with her and assumed the shape of a snow-white Bull. He then mingled with the bull herd of Agnor when Europa was with her female attendants gathering flowers in the meadows. She became fixiated with the white bull beauty and had the courage to sit on its back. Jupiter in the form of the bull took advantage of the situation retired to the shore and took her across the sea to Crete.
