Dinas Emrys

About this video:

Dinas Emrys, the historical home relating to the White and Red headed serpents or dragons perceived by Ambrosius in the Nemnius Chronicle 9th century. Expanded on within the published work of Geoffrey of Monmouth History in 1136. Ambrosius is later popularised as Merlin, where as Giraldus Cambrensis or Gerald of Wales points out there are two Myrddin or Merlins one related to Vortigern Ambrosius, the other related to the North.

Robert de Boron poem from France dated to c. 1190 connects Merlin to Uther Pendragon and the round table, Merlin later plays a prominent role within the exploits of King Arthur. Celebrated in numerous poems, literature and documents. There too could be an alternative way of getting to know Myrddin or Merlin too. Likewise the associated legends and the follow on inter-disciplinary debates all contribute in one way or another.

Permission for access to Dinas Emrys is gained from the National Trust Office near by.

The music for this video is not The Hills they are Hollow, but Merlin am I, also by Damh, which I suggested you use if I recall correctly.
