Hello Everyone!

I hope that the changing seasons have brought new insights and growth for you. The Aontacht Production Team has begun preparations for the next issue centred around the theme of the "Wild Earth" (Volume 3, Issue 1). Each of you are invited to contribute as our Magazine is made up of Community Submissions -- let YOUR voice be heard!

The submission deadline is the 15th May 2010, so you have a month to think about this, write a piece or find something you've done in the past, and send over your submissions -- we accept all the usual: essays/articles, poems, book or media reviews, short stories, meditations, personal or group rituals, personal reflections, recipes, photographs, personal artwork, etc.

The upcoming topic is loosely based on the concept of the "Wild Earth": the Celts loved and revered the Land; how do we in modern times reveal our love and reverence in practical ways?

We also accept anything appropriate to the season, whether you are in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere (we welcome both).

Specifically, we are looking for *practical* or personal reflections on an aspect of your path that you feel contributes to the wider Earth Community and our planet as a whole. Do you tell stories? Garden? Teach? Heal? Write? Dream? Listen? Savour Life? Research? Volunteer in eco-activism? Talk to trees? -- what do YOU do that gives back to the Land?

Some ideas that might inspire you follow:

  • How do you show your love and reverence for the land / Earth in your spiritual path?
  • How do you show your love and reverence for the land / Earth in all aspects of your life?
  • What does "Wild" or "Wilderness" mean to you?
  • Poems about the Earth, Nature, the Wild, the Land, etc.
  • An ecological interpretation or approach to any relevant topic.
  • A ritual outline to do with honouring the Earth and Land.
  • The importance of honouring and working with the Earth.
  • Write-up about an eco-activist group you are involved with or work that you do.
  • What sort of practices or things can we do in our lives to make a difference to the Earth?
  • Book review of something you read that you felt speaks well about the Earth and our role or place here.
  • Recipe for something that you can eat from the wild or organic gardening (just one example)

And of course there are many other possible things that you could do. If you're not sure whether your submission is appropriate or not, still send it to us and we can decide or work with you on it. Closer to the time, I will try to send out an email to all DD members reminding you of the impending deadline.

Looking forward to your contributions,
~Jenn
