Awens to All:

This Weekend will be Spring Equinox and it looks like there will be too much Responsibilities at the Legion during the Weekend to do an Overnighter of Camping.  So instead, I will be going off Saturday to do an Afternoon's Campfire Burning at Weaver Creek Campsite.

Sunday after doing my Legion Cleaning, I will be making doing Sramadana Volunteer Landscaping at the Vihara Temple Community Garden as a part of my Spring Equinox Celebrations.

That would be a Perfect Way to complete my Spring Equinox Celebrations.

What do you other guys have Planned for your Spring Equinox Celebrations?

Awens to All:

Last Night, I went to the BVS Temple to make attending their Tuesday Night Meditation Session as part of my Spring Equinox Celebrations.

When I arrived at the Temple, I did a Session of Pulling Weeds out of my Garden Allotment in preparation for Planting my 2017 Crops then went and participated with their Meditation Session.

During the Meditation Session, I got a quick Picture of the Buddhist Altar:

I then Deposited $10.00 that I brought in from taking their Cans & Bottles in for them to the Returnit Depot to exchange for a few Dollars for their Temple.

After the Meditation Session was over, I paid Respects to the Venerable Monk and Departed.

Awens to All:

This Easter Weekend, I took off for an Overnighter of Camping at my Favorite Spot which is a Logging Base Field along the Hemlock Valley Road that goes to Hemlock Ski Resort.

I left on Friday Morning at about 5:00am and got to the Site just after Sunrise. First thing I did was set up my Table & Chair and had my First Smoke of my Special Pipe Weed and cracked by First Beer and then got to work setting up my Camp.

Here is my Camp I set up after arriving:

Here is the Four Man Dome Tent that I found in Byrne Creek during one of our Fish Trapping Events. It is in good condition with only a few Holes in it:

My Campsite was in the center of something that resembled a Circle Fort as there was piles of Dirt all around the Campsite. So that reminded me of the Ancient Circle Forts of places like Old Sarum and Avebury.

Here is how my Camp is concealed in the little Circle Fort:

And here is a Landscape Shot of the Big Logging Base Pad that I like Camping on:

Then some Rain fell so I quickly put up my Awning Tarp over my Four Man Dome:

I put together a Ring of Stones for a Fire Pit:

Then I set off collecting Wood to go along with the Dry Wood I had brought. During my search for Fire Wood, I found a couple of Old Xmas Trees that would work good on the Fire. Here is a Picture of one of them:

And here is the Wood Pile I managed to collect together for the Night's Fire:

Here is the Fire Pit stocked with Wood ready for Dusk when I would Light the Fire:

For the rest of the afternoon, I either Slept in my Tent or spent some Time Reading the Book I borrowed from the Vihara Temple: "A Treasury Of Buddhas Teachings" by Ajahn Tiradhammo who is a Buddhist Monk I once met.

About an hour before Sunset, I started Roasting a Prime Rib that I won at a Legion Meat Raffle. I coated it with some Pizza Sauce that I used as a sort of BarBQ Sauce.

At about 7:15pm, I started my Fire:

After the Fire was started, I had my Prime Ribe Dinner and when I got totally Dark, I threw on the 2 Xmas Christmas Trees and recorded a Video of the Good Spring Equinox Bon Fire for my YouTube Channel:

I then enjoyed the Fire for a time and then went to Sleep and got to Sleep In the next morning for as long as I wanted.

I then got up, did a Slow Packing along with reading more of my Book on Buddhism and after having a Late Breakfast and then left to go back to town.

It was a Good Campout!

Awens to All:

Nothing could start out a Spring Equinox better than getting back to Gardening Work allowing me to get Car Insurance which enables me to come to your BVS Temple and dig the Weeds out of the Sunchoke Patch and get Sunchoke Planted into my Allotment.

Today was an Ata Sil Day which commemorates the Full Moon Esbat and I did my Ata Sil Meditations whilst digging in the Sunchoke Patch.  I got some Weeds pulled out of the Sunchoke Patch but will take many more hours of work to get all the Weeds that have grown in during the Winter to get them all cleared out.

After I got that done, I found some Sunchoke that was not properly Planted and was just sitting on the ground.  So I took them and got them Planted in the Sunchoke Section of my Allotment:

And then I took a Picture of the Yellow Plum Tree that is just packed with Blossoms:

It was a great day for Gardening at a Buddhist Temple Community Garden!

We are into March and Spring Equinox is coming up.

Looks like I have a Hanami Picnic planed on March 27th that may be a good way to Celebrate the Spring Equinox:

It has been a long time since I did a Meetup with my Japanese Language Meetup Group so this could be a great way to Celebrate Spring Equinox.

Unfortunately, it is Raining so hard this Morning that my Plans for going off to have a Camp Fire has to be Post Poned for a while.
