This is a landmark act
This is a landmark act I think; much in the vein of the Australian apology earlier this year.
Well done to the Canadian government. No one can deny their past acts, but one can make every effort to appologise for them. The hardest part will be attempting to repair the damage done, and to try to improve the conditions some of these societies live in... They were forced to live in a European style society, which has let them down even in the context of that society. Let's hope the future brings healing and understanding to both parties involved; Native and European-origin Canadian alike.
